James E. Lurz, 55 of Bald Knob, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, May 3, 2019. He was born on April 20, 1964 in Streator, Illinois to the late James A and Kathleen Lurz.

James enjoyed working on cars, studying his Native American heritage but most of all spending time with his family.

He is also preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie Lurz. James leaves behind his four children, Amanda Williams, Thomas Lurz (Nila), Jamie Dunn (Bill), Natalie Lurz; granddaughter Raven Lurz and fifteen additional grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Albert Davis, 86, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, bade this life farewell and begun his journey to his eternal home, in the early hours on Thursday, May 2, 2019. Albert was born on June 2, 1932 to the late Rufus and Clara Davis in Parkdale, Arkansas.

Albert Davis accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.  He devoted his love towards his mother and father and moved them to Dermott, Arkansas in the summer of 1969, while working as a farmer for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Clara Vaughn Davis, one sister Elizabeth McCoy, two brothers Robert and Curtis Davis, one nephew Frank McCoy and one grandson Cotry Davis, III.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son Cotry Davis (Angela) of Jacksonville, Arkansas; one step-daughter Emmar Branch (Ira) of Brinkley, Arkansas; five grandchildren Tyren Davis (Amy) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Corey and Nathan Davis of Jacksonville, Arkansas; three step-grandchildren Eulos and Latrecia Wilson and Jamal Clark; two great-grandchildren Rashaad and Rashaan Davis of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Tranisha Barney and LaMarcus Junior; two nephews, whom he had a hand in raising, James Payne (Linda) of Dermott, Arkansas and Elbert “Kehinde Lumumba” Payne of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; special extended family members Ruby Woods, Lula, Henry, and David Billups (Wanda), Julia Merrill (Dwight), Jesse Woods (Thelma) and Regina Jackson (Jimmy) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2018 at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas with funeral services beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will be held at Zion Hill Cemetery, Parkdale, Arkansas.

Jodie J. McKinzie, 82 of Jessieville, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, May 6, 2019. She was born in Garland County, Arkansas on April 19, 1937 to the late Frank and Delia Blake. Jodie enjoyed singing in church, spending time with her family but most of all being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She is also preceded in death by her husband Orville Godwin; 2 children Ronnie Godwin, Joyce Crook; 4 siblings Vernest and Vernon Blake, Dorothy Fisher, Inez Jones; 3 grandchildren Sharon and Beverly Brumley, Madison Carter and one son-in-law Billy Carter. Jodie leaves behind her five children Don Godwin (Amanda), Diane Brumley (Steve), Doris Carter, Cathy Weston, Earl Godwin (Debbie); 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Her family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Arkansas Hospice for the love and care they provided to Ms. Jodie.

Janet Clement, 88

Janet Clement passed from this life on Sunday, May 5, 2019.  She was born to Winfield and Margaret Aiguier on December 8, 1930 in Kearny, New Jersey. 

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Winifred Cates.  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Rondell R. Clement; two sons, Mark (Teresa), and Paul; four grandchildren, Adam Clement (Lauren), Eryn Clement, Samantha Colter and Aley Colter and three great grandchildren.

Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Sunday school teacher.  She was adored by all who knew her. Janet was an eternal optimist and saw the good in everyone she knew. She always looked for the best in others and everyone who knew her was a better person by simply being in her presence. She never spoke an unkind word about anyone.

She loved sewing quilts and clothing for family.  She was an excellent mother, homemaker, and cook.  Janet was compassionate, kind, caring, loving, and patient.  She was passionate about teaching Sunday school and was an exemplary role model to her students and anyone who crossed her path.

Janet has touched many lives and will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to know her.   

Services will be Thursday, May 9, at Jacksonville church of Christ, 6003 Jacksonville Cutoff Road, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m.

Daniel Ray Hiser, 74

Daniel Ray Hiser, 74, of Cabot, passed away May 7, 2019. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Henry Idris Hiser and Mildred Lee Grimes.

Daniel was a truck driver for over 45 years during which time he accrued over five million safe miles. He was a member of the American Trucking Association’s America’s Road Team. Daniel was a faithful Sunday School teacher and Member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville for over 3 decades. He was a public servant for Christ as the Chaplain for Jacksonville Police Department and the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Daniel leaves behind a loving wife- Jean Hiser; a son- Daniel Hiser, Jr; a brother- John David (Lucie) Hiser; and a large church family, law enforcement family, and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 5-7pm at A Natural State Funeral Service. Funeral Service to be held May 10, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville at 10am.

Vearl “Dee” Hogan, 77, of Jacksonville, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.  He was born June 20, 1941, in Leachville, Arkansas to the late J.W. Hogan and Naoma McEntyre.

Vearl was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, kids and grandkids. He also loved to be outdoors while enjoying hunting and fishing.

Vearl was preceded in death by his Father- J.W. Hogan; Mother- Naoma McEntyre; Wife- Peggy Hogan; Daughter- DeeDee Hogan; Son- Kenneth Clark; Brother- Danny Hogan; and Grandson- Ethan Hogan. He leaves behind his Siblings- Sandra Posey, Donald Hogan, Truman Hogan, Noble Weatherford; Sons- Todd Hogan (Lisa), Tony Hogan (Pamerla); Daughters- Becky Carter (Ronnie), Kristie Thomas; Grandchildren- Wesley Hogan, Cody Carter, Cayla Sawyer, Amber Carter, Kenny Clark, Kayla Golding, Megan Thomas; and Great-Grandchildren,

David Dewayne Lee, 37 of Patterson passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019.  He was born in Searcy, Arkansas on April 29, 1982 to Royce Dewayne Lee and Kimberly Gail Bottoms-Lee.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Virginia Bottoms and Royce V. Lee.

He is survived by his parents, and a sister; Latasha Lee.

David will be remembered as a loving son, grandson, father, uncle and friend.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being in the great outdoors.

Jeanne A. Jacobs, 74 of Bryant, Arkansas passed from this life on May 9, 2019. She was born on September 28, 1944 in Elmira, New York to the late Richard E. and Jeanne L. Doty. Jeanne was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Beebe, Arkansas and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jacobs. Jeanne leaves behind her children Dawn Baker (Chris) and Louis Streb; siblings, Bobby Demyan and Shelia Dilmore; grandchildren, Lexi, Capi, Cali, Cannon, Cord and Ashley; great-grandchild, Jordyn; special niece, Jennifer Dilmore and a host of other family and friends.

A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Beebe, Arkansas.

Patsy Ann Bing, 78

Patsy Ann Bing, age 78, passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 10th, 2019 in the presence of her loving husband, William Wayne Bing. From her birth on August 2nd, 1940 to her death, she nourished people all around her with kindness, wisdom, compassion, and love.

She departed this earth with fulfillment in the family of three children and her grandchildren; son, Scott Bing of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Tracy Miller (Steve), Lesley, Alexa, Laury, and Aulden of Austin, AR; and daughter, Ashley Bing (Hannah), Sidney and Aidan. She was also survived by one brother, James H. Smith and wife, Joyce, of Longview TX, and many other cherished family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard L. and Lucille Moss Smith of Dermott, AR.

Patsy received a degree in nursing in 1961 from the Methodist School of Nursing in Memphis, TN. She spent thirty productive years in many facets of nursing and nurse management from which she retired in 1993. Patsy was an avid card player who never lost a game to her husband, children, or grandchildren. While we are all saddened by our loss, we are in awe of her record. In lieu of flowers please donate to the causes she cherished: Center for Survivors of Torture (www.cstnet.org) and St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Lavettia Gail Wooley, 60, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019.  She was born on June 25, 1958 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Hugene and Doris Wooley.

She is a lover of reading good books, crossword puzzles, country western dancing, games, camping and her favorite color was purple.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her father Hugene Fortner Wooley.

Gail leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her children Zachary Ryan Wooley (Destiny) and Makayla Nicole Wooley; grandchildren Hayden Eugene Wooley, Johnnie Ryan Wooley and Liam Fortner Ryan Wooley; her mother Doris Alene Mathis-Wooley; siblings Pamela Rhonda Wooley, Richard Hugene Wooley and Paul Dean Wooley and many other friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Rolling Hills Country Club, 271 Randy Beaver Drive, Cabot, Arkansas from 6:00-8:00 P.M. for all family and friends.

John B. Westcott, age 42, of Little Rock, was taken home on Friday,  May 10, 2019.  He was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin on April 20, 1977. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Westcott; brother, Jeffery Westcott; mother, Judy Westcott, and nephew, William Struck.  He loved Facebook and gaming.  He also enjoyed listening to techno music and DJ’ing records.  His other passions included cooking, photography, and graphic arts.  He was loved by many and will truly be missed.

John is survived by his sister, Shelly Struck; sister-in-law, Samantha Westcott; nephew, Collin Struck, and niece, Myah Struck.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 18, 2 pm at 111 Jacob Court, Little Rock.

Richard “Rick” A. Standley, 74 of Clinton, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2019. He was born on February 25, 1945 in Hanford, California to the late Ernest P and Elenor Standley. Rick served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965 on the USS Enterprise.

He is survived by his children Toni Renee Standley, Dan Elliott; seven grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Rick is also preceded in death by his son Richard P. Standley; siblings Beatrice Necessary and Tommy Dean Standley.

William (Bill) Folmar, 80, of Jacksonville passed away on May 12, 2019.  He was born on August 26, 1938 in Troy, Alabama to the late George and Lois Folmar.

Bill was a Charter Member of the McArthur Assembly of God Church and retired from AT&T .

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Kelsey and brother Joel Folmar.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his wife of 56 years Carolyn Folmar; children Keith Folmar (Khristal) of Dover, Arkansas and daughter Cheryl Hunt (Kenny) of Collinsville, Oklahoma; grandchildren Colley (Micah), Ryan (Jessica), Chandler, Canon and Nathaniel; two great-grandchildren Brayden and Madelyn; as well as many friends and relatives.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076.

Dan Countryman, 64, passed away on Monday,  May 6, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He was born on May 18, 1954 and was a loyal and dedicated employee of Redstone Construction for many years. 

He is preceded in death by the love of his life Shirley Trott.

He is survived by his life-long friend Jill Spillman; friends Barry, Kelley, and Art; step-children, grandchildren and family in Oklahoma; as well as many other friends who knew him dearly.

Kenneth Nathaniel Jackson, 33, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 2, 2019. He was born in Metairie, Louisiana, on August 4, 1985. 

Kenneth is survived by his mother, Beverly Jackson, three brothers; Keith Jackson, Cornelius Jackson (Michelle), Richard Jackson (Candace), two sisters; Ulrika N. Jackson and Quintina Jackson, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces as well as many friends.

Kenneth worked at Lowes in Jacksonville and enjoyed helping and meeting people.  He will be remembered as a man who often spoke loudly and firm but everyone knew he was a gentle giant. He loved his entire family and was also known as the guy with a big heart that was extremely kind, who was always helping everyone that he could help. Kenneth was an avid video gamer with many talents. He was an amazing artist, Loving son, brother, uncle and friend as well.

Roy Clifford Henderson, Jr., 59, Lonoke passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019. He was born in Clarendon, Arkansas to the late Roy Clifford Henderson, Sr. and Lois Lindsey Henderson. Roy was a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed Cooking and Genealogy.

Roy is survived by his sons Roy Clifford Henderson III (Melissa) of Ward, James L. Henderson (Ashley) of Austin, Richard D. Henderson (Felicia) of Lonoke; his daughter Clairice M. Henderson of Lonoke; his sister Patsy Raines (Jerry) of Little Rock, Nancy Williams of Havana, Cathy Henderson of Little Rock, Gloria Thompson (Keith) of Southport, Florida; his brother Howard Henderson (Devona) of Ward; his stepmom Carolyn Henderson of Beebe; and 13 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Claredon Methodist Church at 121 North 3rdStreet, Clarendon, Arkansas 72029, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10am by Reverend Heather Clawitter.

Jason David Leifheit, 44 of Hot Springs, Arkansas was born September 22, 1974 in Aurora, Illinois and went home to be with our Lord on May 14, 2019. 

Jason was loved by everyone he met.  His wit, intelligence and captivating charm drew people to him, and his laughter and smile were incomparable. His open heart allowed others to feel comfortable, creating a space where judgment fell away and acceptance flowed.  He had a lifelong love of music and nature.  Jason was a passionate and loyal friend to many.

Jason is survived by his mother, Lynn Kirchoff (Ralph), his father, David Leifheit (Billie), his son, Quintin Gilbert, of Cary, IL, his siblings, Sonya Kirchoff,, Walt Kirchoff, Susan Kirchoff, Sandy Kirchoff Denty (Chris), Roy Gustafson (Mina), his cousins, aunts, uncles and the many friends he made in his lifetime.

William (Kic) Wheeler, 83

William (Kic) Wheeler, 83, of Jacksonville passed away May 16, 2019.  He was born in Old Hickory, Tennessee on April 8, 1936 to the late Henry and June Wheeler.

He was an honored member of the United States Airforce, for 25 years, where he served proudly and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.  He also served in the United States Marine Corp; owned and operated K&E Equipment in Sherwood, Arkansas for nearly 25 years before retiring. He is a member of the Military Road Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister Linda Jackson.

William leaves behind the love of his life and wife of over 50 years, Eileen Wheeler; three sons Mark Wheeler of Opello, Arkansas, Tom Wheeler (Marlis) of Jacksonville, Arkansas and James Wheeler of Cabot, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren as well as a sister Mary Benton of Madison, Tennessee and many friends, family and loved ones.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Military Road Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Arkansas and followed by memorial services at 11:00 am.
